A yellow-green sea
The scene from my kitchen window
began to take on the form of an animated cartoon.
A small plot of oilseed rape which grows close by
was waving to and fro in the strong wind.
A small, black, rounded shape
appeared and disappeared at intervals,
like a storm tossed coracle
in a yellow-green sea.
The crop was tall
and my neighbour Albert, short.
He was in amongst the plants,
picking leaves for his rabbits.
The rise and fall of his well-seasoned beret
creating the drama.
